Background

I'm ManuEcheveste, an indie video game developer from Mexico.

I develop games under my nickname, but have plans to later on make a studio.

I was born in Mexico, currently living in Morelos.

When I was a little kid, I've always been interested in computers in a high level, being capable of unlocking my mother's computer for my sister by pointing with my hand what key to press to type her password while being a baby with no real consciousness.

Sometime around the age of 4-5, I was given a Nintendo DS with the New Super Mario Bros game, along with others, and since then I loved to play video games, making it my passion.

For personal reasons, I had to move from Mexico City to Morelos, around the age of 8, meeting new people in a bilingual school in which I had English classes half of the day, helping me to develop skills in that language from early days. The people I met on that school more than 10 years ago are people that to the current day are still really close friends, just like Lybén Ramírez, Misa Cuadra, Eduardo Hernández and "Patrón" (master/boss).

Around the Age of 10, I started my YouTube Channel, uploading a Minecraft Pocket Edition (Legacy) GamePlay, and later on uploading Let's Play videos with my friends on the XBOX 360 version of the game or random videos of a child doing nonsense.

On September 8th of 2015, I would eventually launch a video which would be my first hit on YouTube, called "Juguetes de Five Nights at Freddy's" (Five Nights at Freddy's toys), showcasing knock off toys of the franchise and giving birth to the character of my channel for a long time "CerdoTuber" (PigTuber); a Minecraft Pig toy.

Currently, the video has around 200,300+/- views, making my channel at the moment eligible for monetization along with reaching 1000 subscribers.

Later that month, I uploaded the second part of that video, making it my biggest hit on YouTube at the moment, reaching more than 330,400+/- views.

At the beginning of junior high, around the age of 11 years old, my computer science teacher showed us how to make "a virus", which was an MS DOS command to shut down the PC when executed. Since that day, I developed a passion for coding and computer science.

That same year, I developed an AI chatbot with MS DOS commands, capable of understanding basic words and sentences and replying. If the AI couldn't understand something or didn't know how to reply, it would record it on a file so that I could later program some replies.

That AI was lost because I only had the main files in a USB flash drive, so I could show it to my friends on school, but one of them unplugged the USB without ejecting it safely before, corrupting all the data inside of it and loosing 3 months of work. I tried to program the AI again, but didn't have the motivation to do it.

On my second year on junior high, I started coding on the engine Game Maker 8, and started to work on prototypes of games and fan works of some franchises, like a Mega Man platformer or a Shantae new universe.

My (limited) coding skills at the time made its way to my school, as in my computer science class, we had to make the schematics of a "cyber".  Most of my classmates made the cyber on drawings, and very few on 3D models, and even one in Minecraft, but I made mine in Game Maker, making it one of the few interactive works of the class.

At the begging of my last year in junior high, I started working on a prototype of some Smart Glasses. The prototype was made in an Arduino Nano board with an OLED display. The chassis of the hardware was made of cardboard, as I didn't have any other materials to build it.

The project was a success, it worked really well and was being used by most of my classmates.

Near the beginning of 2018, I played Doki Doki Literature Club!, a psychological horror visual novel which was trying to look as a regular dating sim, marking me with an unforgettable yet powerful experience. Till this day, DDLC is still my favourite video game.
I worked for a short period of time contributing to the Monika After Story Mod, learning how to code in Python and gaining experience in that programming language and eventually managing to achieve that one of my screenshots is being showcased at the main page of the mod.

Later on that same year, I started thinking and working on what I expected to be my first commercial and professional game; Racing Tanks, drawing prototypes of the faces and expressions of the characters and the core gameplay. Initially I was going to make that game with a friend of mine, and both of us decided that it would be better to use Unity Engine as it had a free licence, and my Game Maker 8 licence was not an original one. He named one of the characters: Skyty, which is inspired in Monika from DDLC. Later on, he abandoned the development of the game.

When I applied to enter to High School on Tecmilenio, they made me an IQ test, in which it was revealed that it was higher than the average, however, it didn't show the number. Being intrigued by that, I took by myself various IQ tests on the internet and in multiple occasions around the years, marking an average of 130, and the highest value being 140.

On my high school, I met some of my best friends which to this very day I appreciate a lot, such as Ximena LoVel, Dani Manrique and Lily Ochoa, and even seeing one of them as my own family.

Near the end of 2019, I announced on my YouTube Channel that I would be changing the content of it, now making videos about game development as that was something I was focusing on with my new game and sharing the progress of it on the channel.

On 2020, I started playing Tetris at a competitive level, challenging my friends on the tetr.io platform, developing a passion for the game.

I was on a really high skill level compared to most of my friends, only one of them being at my level. Both of us played together and learned together how to be better at the game, however at the beginning of the year 2022, I started playing on Tetra League, the ranked mode of that platform, which I was terrified to play on. After finishing the trial of 10 games plus extra games to earn a rank, I got the A rank, being at an average level. That was kind of disappointing to me, but I started playing almost daily to improve drastically my skill and level. Currently, I managed to achieve the rank SS, the third-best rank of the platform, just below U and X, and also managed to be the top 50th player in Mexico for some time.

At the beginning of the year 2023, I got diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome, being a form of the Autism Spectrum Disorder (without being Autism), which explains some of my peculiar mannerisms, excessive passion in some topics (such as programming or Tetris), difficulty in social interactions and my high IQ level.

Currently, I'm developing a visual novel inspired in DDLC.

I love art!

Feel free to draw or commission anything about my characters.

I really appreciate fan expression (it's something I do myself), so I won't take action to protect my copyright unless I really feel the need to.

If you made something yourself...
